If you are going to scar seomthing on your body - It should sure as hell mean something. Whether its a clan marking or something like Lux describes, that's all well and good. Awesome even.

Bantram is referring to emo individuals who desperately want to look cool by being 'different'.

People arent actually arguing in this thread.

Ive contemplated getting one, but I quite honestly a little worried about the pain/worry I wont like it later.. Piercings kind of fall into the same catagory, but they are far more reversible :p

It's not really painful, unless the tattooist sucks and the needle starts vibrating your bones. my first one was done by an apprentice, for like 1/2 price since she was just learning.. that one was like my smallest one, yet the most painful... vibrated down to my elbow. Normally it just feels like very tiny pinches, and then eventually it gets like a numb feeling. Oh, and if you get worked up worrying about the pain(before you actually get it), when it is over you get the feeling of relief - sorta like a type of therapy

I didn't research them before getting. I know, kinda stupid. But I have had then verified by a really old chinese guy at my old job - he was the coolest old crazy person, kinda miss him and the things he would preach everyday. One of them doesn't actaully mean what I had wanted. It was supposed to mean 'truth', cause an ex had 'to seek the truth', but it actually means to 'believe' or 'trust'. Oh well, either way, it still means something meaningful to me considering where it is placed (over my heart). It sorta had a duel meaning to me, one being my ex (which is irrelavent now), the other is because I always tell the truth, and dont lie - and don't really care for people that do.

A tat won't make a diffrence in that, every part of you will look shit when you are old and wrinkly. I am not saying a tat is a great idea, but.. that's not a good enough excuse

I want several tattoos all over my body, labeling the body part on which the tattoo is on.

for example, "ass" on my ass, "leg" on my leg, and "right half of face" on the right half of my face.

It would help me keep track of myself

Gawd I always wanted to post a pic of my tattoos . . . . and bored during downtime it happened.

Most people can't figure out what it is apart from a big red #1 (usually only seen when I am on my bicycle anyway). Thought I should get #2 tattooed on my other leg ("#1 goes first, then #2--part of my therapy").

It's based on a pharmaceutical you can buy in Thailand (500mg, 1 dose hence the numbers) used for killing intestinal worms. The rest is too complicated to explain really.

I am thinking of getting one on my other leg based around some swirly chaotic sperm-egg theme to symbolise my daughter coming into the world . . . . or a rat with a mohawk and a machine gun.

I don't see anything wrong with tribal tattoo's although I think oldskool is the way, like anchors, betty boop etc (or star wars if your so inclined
